I finally did it!! I locked my hair

So here is the beginning of the end!! I have been talking for months about locking my hair and I finally started them! I have to say, never in a million years would I have thought that I would want to loc my hair!! I have come along way since then, but more than anything I'm excited about the journey! As of now I loc'd my hair about a week ago and it has already grown. It will be a few months before it locs, but it is so crazy how fast it grew. When I was getting a relaxer it took months for my hair to grow. It blows my mind how fast it is growing now that I'm natural. Although it is itchy, and frustrating because the roots start to loosen up which makes you feel like your hair is not gonna loc! Other than that I am ecstatic!
I call this the beginning of the end because I don't wanna ever cut them!! This is the last journey I want my hair to go through. I mean of course I'm gonna get it styled, but as far as putting chemicals or weave in it, which I never was big on weave in the first place, locs it is! Does anyone else want to get locs, but your afraid to take the plunge? If so what's holding you back?

Always remember life is a journey not a destination, celebrate success and achievement, embrace mistakes and failure for you will learn far more from the latter!

Welcome everyone to my page!Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read this!
 You are forever appreciated!

I have been wanting to start this blog for some time now. I'm so excited to be writing. At this point I am pretty far into my journey, but I believe whole-heartedly that you have to know where you came from in order to know where your going. I know that for women our hair is a big reflection of who we are and can represent the very essence of what makes us, us. Hair for us is more than just hair, it can represent transition, it can represent change and the biggest thing I can think of ( and my main motivation for starting this blog)is it represents our ideals about beauty. Society portrays beauty as long straight hair, long wavy hair, or long curly hair, long crimped hair, long dyed hair and if you cut your hair you better have a pretty face. It is my great challenge to my newbie natural hair sisters, my "I'm thinking about going natural" or my "Hell Naw, do you know what my hair is like without a relaxer" sisters to help you take pride in your nappy natural roots. Wearing your natural hair has everything to do with attitude and perception. It is my hope that me sharing my story and bringing you along on this journey with me; will help you in your lives and your transition. You will realize just how the relationship and perception you have about your hair is all in your head! I invite you to come with me on my natural hair journey....
